Kocierz, August 6th– It was a day of mourning at the Tour de Pologne. Stage 4 was neutralized and shortened in commemoration of Bjorg Lambrecht, the 22-year-old Belgian rider who died after a crash during yesterday’s stage.

With a heavy heart, teams took turns on the front to paid tribute to the promising young rider of Lotto-Soudal and the race became a sad procession in his memory.

Minute’s silence at the start and at the finish, but also at km 48.5, when the peloton stopped, as yesterday, at the same distance Lambrecht crashed.

Stage 4 was for Bjorg. Our deepest condolences to his family and the entire Lotto Soudal team.

Our thoughts are with you all.
