Saint-Flour > Albi, 217.5km. Undulating course with sprint finish.

Sonny Colbrelli takes 7th place in Albi. Another good performance of the Italian sprinter at the end of a stage conditioned by section of crosswinds which led to the peloton split in many parts. In front, remained about forty riders including almost the best sprinters in the bunch. The young Belgian Wout Van Aert won the 10th stage, while the French Julian Alaphilippe held the leader’s jersey.
“I had done everything right and in the last 30km I was quiet in the break – explains Sonny – and before the sprint I decided to look Caleb Ewan’s wheel who was driven by his teammates. I was about to leave but the other sprinters have anticipated me and I have not even managed to make the sprint”.
“It could have been a stage with some surprises – comments SD Gorazd Stangelj – and so it happened. It was a nervous race and the strong wind put many competitors in difficulty, Sonny managed to stay ahead but he missed something in the sprint”.
