March 13th – 19th

FRIDAY, 15 MAR 2019

Pomarance-Foligno, 224km. Hilly.

It had to be a stage for sprinters and the Foligno’s finish line has kept its promise. The Italian Elia Viviani won and beat Peter Sagan and Fernando Gaviria. TBM’S boys worked for Phil Bauhaus who finished 16th.
“The sprint was very tough – explains the German rider – with in the last 3k a lot of corners. Unfortunely, at one important corner we were too far back and far from the first Top15 riders.
Then Matej Mohoric did strong a work helped by Marcel Sieberg with 2k to go but everyone was at the limit and lost each other. During the day, my teammates made a good job protecting me as much as possible and my legs were good. We have to try again in the next stages and I am sure we can make a good result“.
