Alcala-Alcossebre (Spain), February 9th – Thrilling final on the stage 4 of the Vuelta a La Comunitat Valenciana, where Team BAHRAIN MERIDA leader Dylan Teuns finished in the group of the best riders, taking 8th place, 17″ down the winner Adam Yates.

It was the Queen Stage, 188km from Vila-Real to Alcala-Alcossebre, featuring three intermediate climbs, then the final ascent with 3.4 kilometres at 9.7%. Bahrain Merida guys worked a lot today too, in order to bring back the breakaway and to support their captain. Unfortunately with about 10km to go he had a flat tyre and he couldn’t finish as he wanted: “I’m sad for that” Dylan explained “But the team did huge effort to bring me back as fast as possible. In the final climb I just lost the first guys in last five hundred meters. I think I can be happy about shape and I tried everything. I think it was the maximum”.

In fact everybody at the team can be happy for today’s result, because it was a good stage in the meaning that the riders listen to the morning strategies of the both sports directors and everything worked out as agreed. Just a matter of bad luck, that dropped Teuns to 5th place overall. New leader after stage the penultimate stage is Ion Izagirre (Astana).
