Kanstantsin Siutsou kept Red and Green Jerseys after the 4th stage at Tour of Croatia
Friday, 20th April – Kanstantsin Siutsou kept both jerseys from yesterday’s hard Stage at Tour of Croatia. He still has 8 seconds advantage in General Classification before tomorrow’s challenging stage.
Today’s stage started in National park Paklenica. Stage was 171 km long and it took riders on the Adriatic coast road to Crikvenica. 26 km before Crikvenica riders had to climb Cat 3 Grižane and Kanstantsin confirmed he is the best climber in the last 4 days at Tour of Croatia.
“It was a crazy day on today’s stage but we expected that. It was a day for a breakaways and a day for sprinters. It was warm, nice weather, nice place but it was a hard stage. I am very satisfied what we did as a team. Team-mates brought me and Niccolò to a perfect position. In the last kilometer I was on a second position, that was perfect since I am not a sprinter. I will continue like this and I am looking forward for Giro,” said satisfied Kanstantsin Siutsou and he concluded: “I hope I will recover and defend my jersey tomorrow.”
Finish in Crikvenica was a challenge to any rider since there were 4 corners of 90 degrees. Niccolò Bonifazio was in a good position to sprint but he had to avoid a bunch crash 300 m to go and he finished 5th.
