Žalec-Idrija, 169.8km. Hilly.

Stage 3 from Žalec to Idrija, a 169,8 km long route with 4 climbs where the last one is rated as 2nd category climb. At 42 km to go at Medvedje Brdo, a main group with Bole and Novak in it tried to reached the leaders ahead of the peloton but a gap was only increasing on a long descent to Godovič and later to sprint finish in Idrija. With a delay of 2:08 minutes Bole finished the 3rd stage at 11th place.
Bole rated route as difficult: “It was hard, but thanks to all teammates for a great job today. On the last climb, I did my best. Domen Novak was along with me and helped me, but the group ahead was too far away and we could not catch them.”
Sport Director Gorazd Štangelj is satisfied with a performance: “As we predicted, it was hard again, but we fought till the end because there was a chance to come back. On the top we didn’t find a lot of collaboration from the first riders. Grega had a small crises and Domen waited for him to catch the first group, but we lost a lot at a descent. Still, we are here competing without any real climbers, so the result is not bad at all.””
