Fast team for Prudential RideLondon – Surrey Classic

In the 7th edition of the Prudential RideLondon – Surrey Classic organizers change a course to make it more challenging. As it uses to be known as sprinters race, this year the course is a little shorter (169km), but will take riders up the famous Box Hill in Surrey 5 times, instead of just once, as in previous years. It will be interesting to see how will multiple climbs impact the race and if the breakaway will stand more chances this year.
Our sports director Rik Verbrugghe said: “The aim for our team is to bring our sprinters Bauhaus and Colbrelli in the first group and ready to sprint for the victory. Haussler and Sieberg will be key in bringing them to a good position and lead-out for the sprint”.
5 times climb to Surrey Hill will bring spice to the race. The gradient doesn’t go over 7%, but that is enough to turn sprinter’s race into one-day specialist’s race. The race will start at Bushi Park at 14:10, while the finish is at the usual venue – the Mall next to Buckingham Palace.

Team BAHRAIN MERIDA line-up for Prudential RideLondon-Surrey Classic: Yukiya Arashiro, Phil Bauhaus, Sonny Colbrelli, Heinrich Haussler, Marcel Sieberg.
