BAHRAIN MERIDA line-up for Tour of Croatia

Sunday, 15th April – Tour of Croatia will be held for the fourth consecutive year, from 17th to 22nd April 2018. Six stages will take riders on a route of over 1.000 kilometres throughout the beautiful Croatia. BAHRAIN MERIDA Team will be heading there with a young, dynamic line-up and, as always, high expectations.

Head of Sports Directors, Gorazd Štangelj, is looking forward to the Tour in his neighbouring country: “Our line-up for this race is full of young riders, who will be given the chance to prove themselves. We expect a good result on sprint stages from Bonifazio and on mixed stages from Mohorič.” He also added that the team is counting on one or two stage wins, but the expectations for GC are not that high.“ Although, we do count on Siutsou and Novak to rank as high as possible,” concluded Štangelj.

Matej Mohorič, one of the key riders for this year’s Tour of Croatia, commented before the race: “I have recently been training and preparing myself for the Tour of Croatia in high altitude training camp with BAHRAIN MERIDA Team in Spain, on Teide, Tenerife. We all worked hard, were very focused and I believe that this will certainly pay off in this the race. I think I made another step forward in terms of my fitness after the Volta Catalonya, my last race. I felt good in the training camp and I will hopefully feel even better next week in the race.” He also thinks that the team has good chances for some stage wins and even GC ranking. “I feel confident that day by day we – as a team – can acheive our goals.”
