Warren Barguil (SUN) took a victory on a Bastille Day
Tour de France 2017.
SAINT-GIRONS – FOIX – 101 km / Stage 13
Foix, France, July 14th
Today’s stage 13 was the shortest stage of this edition of the Tour de France, but definitely not the easiest one. A mild and cloudy day, with a bit over 22°C. Bastille Day was celebrated all the way of the stage in the Pyrenees.
BAHRAIN MERIDA Pro Cycling Team riders and directors believe in a better performance in the following days and the team spirit is good in the team. At the very beginning of todays’ stage Tsgabu Grmay and Yukiya Arashiro went in the chase for the breakaway riders and it lasted until the climbs where Mikel Landa (SKY) and Alberto Contador (TSF) decided to attack the climbs. Yukiya Arashiro was keeping a good position in first 20 kilometers, but then got back to the bunch.
After a very interesting last climb at Mur de Péguère (Cat 1) and the fast descente kilometers and downtown of Foix, Warren Barguil (SUN) took the victory and Fabio Aru (AST) kept the Maillot Jaune.
