Vuelta a Andalucia Ruta del Sol

February 20th – 24th

Otura-Alhaurín de la Torre, 164km. Hilly.

Team BAHRAIN MERIDA grab top ten place both on the final stage and on the overall standings of the Vuelta a Andalucia: Matej Mohoric sprints to 6th in the slightly uphill final and Dylan Teuns confirms his 10th place in the general classification. Sports Director Rik Vebrugghe analyses the performance of TBM boys after the final stage: “In general we did a good race. Mohoric is growing every day. Dylan Teuns was a little bit sick before coming here, but now he’s in good shape again. Cortina tried to sprint today, but he missed something to be there. All in all I think we’re ready for the upcoming goals”. Matej Mohoric: “I’m satisfied with the week, just a little bit disappointed about yesterday, because I had the legs to be with the best climbers, but there is still some work to do before the important races. I’m looking forward Belgium opening weekend. It will be my first experience there”.
Dylan Teuns: “It was a good week of racing. In the end I can be happy with the result. Just a little bit sad that I didn’t have a good start, but I’m getting better everyday and I’m looking forward to the next races. I’m quite excited to get in the atmosphere of the Belgium classics again”.
