Vuelta a Andalucia Ruta del Sol

February 20th – 24th

SATURDAY, 23RD FEB 2019

Armilla-Granada, 120km. Mountains.

Dylan Teuns finished just outside the top ten in today’s Queen stage. Simon Yates takes a solo win, Team BAHRAIN MERIDA Belgian rider is 11th at 2’51”. After stage 4 he moves to 10th place overall: “It was all about the legs today. I tried to stay with the best guys, but in the end I couldn’t close the gap anymore. On the first climb of the day I was with the leading group, but Astana set a really hard pace and for everybody was even harder. On the second two last climbs it was super hard, but I’m happy with my performance and the shape is growing”.
Matej Mohoric was feeling good today and he was expected to show his downhill skills, but unfortunately he double punctured: “Just after the first climb I changed my bike and I spent some energies to catch the first group and I didn’t have the legs to stay with the best, but I’m looking forward to the next races”.
