Visconti near the podium in the Apennines’s stage
“I just need a bit of luck – says Giovanni Visconti just after the finish line – I was second in Peschici and today fifth. My condition is very good, but there is always something that does not go in the right direction. “
“When Tanel Kangert attacked – he added – I waited a while to follow him, and when I started on the short straight line was too late.”
The Spaniard Omar Fraile won the stage, while no change in the GC ever led by Dutchman Tom Dumoulin with our Vincenzo Nibali always in fifth place.
To report the fall, fortunately without consequences, by Franco Pellizotti. “We were at the start of the second downhill and a runner cut off the road and I could not avoid the fall. Nothing serious only a few small bruises on the left leg”.
Tomorrow 12th stage from Forlì to Reggio Emilia (229 km). The route is mostly flat although it features two uncomplicated climbs in the first part. Very likely a mass sprint finish.
