Visconti leads BAHRAIN MERIDA lineup for Milano-Torino
It’s the oldest Classics race in the World, with its first edition in 1876. For this 98th edition the route will be 186 km from San Giuliano Milanese, few chilometres from Milan city center, to the top of Superga from where you have a superb view of Turin.
The route rolls across the Po Valley along flat roads until Casale Monferrato, where the race profile becomes wavier, with gentle climbs and descents that lead to the final circuit. Arriving in Turin, the race takes the first climb to the Basilica of Superga. The road then drops down into Rivodora on a technical descent and after goes up again, all the way to the finish, with gradients exceeding 10%.
“We will be running for Giovanni Visconti who has shown on Saturday at the Giro d’Emilia and yesterday at the Three Valli Varesine that he has a great shape“. So SD Alberto Volpi explains what Team’s tactics will be.
For his part, Visconti does not hide his ambitions. “I know Superga’s climb and I’m sure it will make a selection already from the first passage. I’m fine and even yesterday I had great feelings. We hope to entertain our fans”.
TEAM BAHRAIN MERIDA lineup for Milano-Torino: Enrico Gasparotto, Antonio Nibali, Manuele Boaro, Niccolò Bonifazio, Giovanni Visconti, Janez Brajkovic, Domen Novak and Luka Pibernik.
