Visconti 9th at the Tre Valli Varesine

  |   Press

Varese, October 9th, 2018 – Today it has been a very explosive race. The young Latvian Toms Skujins won in the center of Varese the 98th edition of Tre Valli Varesine. Good race also for all the the boys with Giovanni Visconti attacking for over 50km and also Vincenzo Nibali has always been in the heat of the race.

Giovanni Visconti: “Today went quite well, we made the race for Vincenzo and with 60km to go the race came alive and there were many attacks on the front. We escaped in nine riders and we quite reached the finish line. In the final I was a bit tired and I lost the chance to win the race by a few seconds”.

Hermann Pernsteiner: “I was expecting a very hard race like always in Italy. It was my first race after the crash in Vuelta and so I felt like a bit tired as I was expecting. But all in all I think we made a good race”.

Team BAHRAIN MERIDA Sports Director Alberto Volpi: “We were not favorites, but we wanted to make a good race for this reason we were covered in group and then we try with Giovanni. Even today Vincenzo has given good signs and going towards Lombardy I can say that he appears to be growing, calm and master of the situation. I am confident that Saturday will be among the protagonists”.
