SATURDAY, 04 MAY 2019 Lucens > Torgon, 107.6km. Queen stage.
It was a tough day in the saddle for the riders on today’s Queen stage. Despite it was shortened due to weather conditions, the course remained demanding with 1 cat. 3 climb and the summit finish cat. 1 on Torgon and peloton had to face also rain and cold.
Hermann Pernsteiner was Bahrain Merida best-placed rider finishing 1’21” behind the reduced group of the winner Roglic, that with one stage left, he almost secured also his overall leadership.
“It was really cold today and I suffered this weather conditions” the Austrian rider said “I tried to do my best, but with 4kms to go, I dropped from the leading group. I have no regrets. My sensations are growing and I feel better day by day. Now I’m looking forward to next race, the Tour of California”.
