Tour de Pologne

August 3rd – 9th

THURSDAY, 8 AUG 2019

Zakopane>Kościelisko, 160km. Mountain.

Domenico Pozzovivo was Team Bahrain Merida best placed rider on the penultimate stage of the Tour de Pologne – a mountain one, featuring five laps of a 29km hilly circuit.
The final climb was decisive with a three-man breakaway that managed to stay away until the finish.
The Italian rider was amongst the strongest, but he couldn’t keep the pace and finished in 13th place, with a gap of 25″ to the winner Jonas Vingegaard (Jumbo-Visma). The Dane is also the new race leader. Pozzovivo moved up to 13th place overall (+35″).
Unfortunately Domen Novak was forced to abandon the race, due to a light fever.
