Tour de Pologne

August 3rd – 9th

WEDNESDAY, 7 AUG 2019

Wieliczka > Bielsko-Biała (153,8km). Rolling course with sprint finish.

Tour de Pologne resumed today with a stage for puncheurs, that featured four climbs and an uphill sprint. Team BAHRAIN MERIDA tried to be protagonist of the race with Matej Mohorič: “I attacked after the last categorized climb, because there was a sprint for bonus seconds” the Slovenian rider explained “After that I got quite a big advantage so I continued and later two guys joined me, but we were not strong enough to stay away and the peloton caught us before the final lap. I’m happy with my performance today because I could finish with the main group and I’m still fighting for the general classification”.
In fact, with two stages left, Matej moved up to 5th overall. Today’s stage finished with a reduced group sprint, won by Mezgec. Best-placed of TBM rider was Pozzovivo (18th) who crossed the finish line with Mohorič.
