Tour de Pologne

August 3rd – 9th

SUNDAY, 4 AUG 2019

Tarnowskie Góry > Katowice, 152.7km. Flat, sprint finish.

A new sprint finish at the Tour de Pologne. It’s again Matej Mohorič that tried to contest it, taking a good 9th place, with his Slovenian fellow Mezgec, that surprised the strongest sprinters and took the win.
“I was a little boxed in the sprint, but the finish was quite hectic so I should be happy that I didn’t crash” the former Slovenian National Champion said.
“We already knew that the first three stages here in Poland would have been complicated for us, seen that we are not competing here with pure sprinters” Team Bahrain Merida Sports Director Franco Pellizotti explained “Anyway, Matej was in a good position today and he took a top ten result and above all he is already doing well according to the general classification”. In fact, Mohorič is in the top ten overall, in 10th place, after today’s stage.
