Tour de France

July 6th – 28th

SATURDAY, 13 JUL 2019

Macôn > Saint-Étienne, 200km. Hilly with 7 categorized climbs.

The first week of the 2019 Tour de France ended with the 8h stage finishing in Saint-Etienne, won by the Belgian Thomas De Gendt. One victory and five Top Ten are the result obtained by the TBM’s boys after this first part of the French race.
“It’s our third Tour – commented SD Gorazd Stangelj – and in the two previous editions we were not able to win a stage. This year the victory even came in the first week and this is a great result. Almost every day we were at the heart of the race and this is also an aspect to be emphasized”.
“After today’s stage it’s clear that Vincenzo Nibali will not be able to aim for the overall, but he will be looking for the mountain stages. This will also be the goal of his teammates who have the full potential to win again and maybe starting from tomorrow with a stage for strikers”.
