Tour de France

July 6th – 28th

WEDNESDAY, 17 JUL 2019

Albi > Toulouse, 167km. Sprint finish.

“Sprints here at the Tour are like those of the other races – explains Matej Mohoric – what is different is the pace in the last 20km which is much higher. Also today we tried to do our race helping Sonny to find the best position before the sprint. But, we were a bit unlucky because at the last corner we lost speed and therefore some position. Not many other sprints remain but sooner or later it will be fine”.
Colbrelli finished 6th in the sprint won by the Australian Caleb Ewan and so he once again confirmed himself among the best jet men of this Tour de France.
“It was a very complicated sprint – says Sonny – and at the last corner I touched another rider and lost speed. A pity, but these are the sprints. I gained a position in the points classification and now I am third even if a bit far from the ‘Green jersey’ Peter Sagan”.
