Team Bahrain Merida stays active with Manuele Boaro in the breakaway

Nanning City, Thursday 18th October – A 4-lap circuit stage at 125.4km in the capital city of Guangxi. It’s the last of the consecutive day for sprinters. Breakaway riders tried to make their moves today, including our Italian Manuele Boaro.

A 3-man breakaway made it until 7km to go, and Boaro won us some precise points and time bonus in the intermediate sprint. However, today was controlled yet again by the sprinter squad. It came to an end with another fast and furious finish, Yukiya Arashiro finished at 14th place, while Fabio Jakobsen(Quick-Step Floors) took the stage and the lead in GC.

From our breakaway rider Manuele Boaro: “Tomorrow is a 3km climb final, we have Pernsteiner here and Visco for GC, but if I feel good, I want to try to help the guys maybe also stay in the front. Yes, we joined the breakaway and we lost some energy, but we are now 12th in the general classification, I hope to go up tomorrow.”

Comments from Yukiya Arashiro: “Everyday I am feeling better than the other day. It’s normal after long time no racing. Now my body is coming to race condition. In the final, Feng helped me get good position to 2km, afterward I followed other team’s train but the speed was too high. I feel good today and tomorrow we will help Giovanni and Pernsteiner in GC.”
