  |   Press

Thursday, August 2nd – The 75th edition of Tour de Pologne will take place between 4thand 10thof August for total distance of just over 1000 km. The racing will take place in southern Poland, regions of Slask and Malopolska. First 3 stages are flat and will see the sprinters battle for supremacy, while last 4 stages are mountain stages or at least hilly and from stage 4 the battle for the GC will begin.

Tristan Hoffman, one of the sports directors for the race (the other is Vladimir Miholjevic) said: “Bonifazio will be our sprinter for the first 3 stages. Then after we go into the mountains, Gasparoto will take leaders duty. He’ll be really motivated to race Tour de Pologne as he has some Polish family ties. We will also give chance to our young rider Domen Novak to be a co-leader and to fight for GC. Mark Padun had a bad crash in Austria so he’ll be motivated to race. All other riders will have a chance to pick the breakaway that fits them and go for a good result.”

The Team Bahrain Merida lineup for Tour de Pologne is: Valerio Agnoli / Mark Padun / Enrico Gasparoto / Ivan Cortina / Grega Bole / Domen Novak / Niccolò Bonifazio.
