San Juan, Tuesday 23rd January – Kanstantsin Siutsou is 9th in the overall standings after the San Juan individual team trial. The Belarusian rider has a 43” gap from the new GC leader the Italian Filippo Ganna.

“It was seven months – says “Kosta” – that I did not make such an intense effort and maybe I paid a little. I left strong and in the second part I tried to control the situation. I’m in the Top Ten and I will definitely try to improve my position “.

Siutsou arrived with a gap of just over a minute compared to the stage winner Irishman Ryan Mullen, author of an excellent time trial.

“A race in line with expectations – explains Head of Performance Paolo Slongo – “Kosta” has done well considering that he is returning to competitions after his serious injury”.

Tomorrow the fourth stage with its 182 kilometers is the longest of this edition of the Vuelta San Juan. The route includes a first category climb, however, when there are still 80 km to the finish line. “He could make selection – emphasizes again Slongo – and we will have to help Bonifazio to stay with the first and then try to go for the victory at the sprint.
