Saint-Germain-en-Laye > Saint-Germain-en-Laye, 138.5km. Flat.

Top ten place in the opening stage, that ends with a bunch sprint as expected, but also with echelons and crashes. Sonny Colbrelli tried to go for it, but he opened the sprint too early and could only take 8th.
Crosswinds split the peloton into echelons and unfortunately Bahrain Merida team leader Domenico Pozzovivo – as several GC contenders – couldn’t manage to get back and finished with a gap of 2’48”.
For the General Classification we can rely also on Dylan Teuns and happily he finished safely with the first group: “It was a really nervous stage and it was very important not to lose the General Classification. It was good that I finish in the first group. Tomorrow’s stage will be silmilar and we need to be focussed on it.”
