Nibali with the best in the first uphill finish
“That’s fine” – said Vincenzo Nibali, 12h on Szczyrk’s finish line – the feelings are good. It was a super explosive finale really not suited to my features, but I arrived with the main riders”.
“It was the first real effort – added the Italian champion – after the mountain training camp and could not ask for more. Let’s go forward. “
The stage was won by Belgian Dylan Teuns, while Peter Sagan regained the yellow jersey of GC leader.
“It went as expected – commented sport director Gorazd Stangelj – Vincenzo made a good race and lost few seconds in the last kilometer against athletes who are running in this period and also with good results such as today’s winner or Sagan himself.”
The fourth stage from Zawiercie to Zabrze will be hunting ground for the group’s fast wheels. With its 238 kilometers it is the longest stage of this Tour de Pologne 2017.
