Salinas de Torrevieja > Torrevieja, 13.4km. Team Time Trial

Good start to the Vuelta a España for Team Bahrain Merida, that finished the opening team time trial in a time of 15’17”, as 12th (26 seconds behind the winner, the Astana Pro Team).
Head of Performance David Bailey is satisfied with this result: “A good time trial for our guys, on a really fast technical course and some challenging conditions, but they rode a super race. Some excellent contribution from all of them, a really good leading process and a nice outcome. So a great start to this first stage”.
Team Bahrain Merida rode without any mistakes, finishing safely after a fast time trial on a flat urban circuit.
“I think we did a good performance” Dylan Teuns comments “Everybody did his best and gave everything for the team so all ok. The form that I felt in the time trial is good. Looking forward to the next stages”.
Team Bahrain Merida young leader Mark Padun is very happy too: “I felt good today, like the whole team. We did a really good job. We worked really good and I’m really satisfied”.
