Frascati>Terracina 140km. Sprint Finish.

The terrible weather conditions with heavy rain and a temperature around 10 degrees marked the fifth stage from Frascati to Terracina so much so that the times for the overall classification were taken on the first time through the finish with 9.2km to go.
“It was really difficult to compete today – comments SD Franco Pellizotti – and I must say that the boys have been very good at helping Vincenzo and ending a difficult stage without taking special risks”.
Valerio Agnoli ran on roads that he knows very well:”During the winter season I come often to train in these area. Today was like winter time! l There were several pitfalls on the course but everything went well and tomorrow we have another stage that is theoretically it’s not so important for the overall”.
The German Pascal Ackermann won the bunch sprint and took his second victory in this Giro d’Italia. The Slovenian Primoz Roglic keeps the pink jersey, while one of the favorites for the final victory the the Dutch Tom Dumoulin abandoned the race after yesterday crash.
