Vinci-Orbetello, 220km. Flat finish.

“It was a nervous stage due to the strong wind – explains SD Franco Pellizotti – the boys worked very well to keep Vincenzo away from dangers. We knew the finish was complicated and we always ran in the first positions to avoid some crash “.
“It is always better to stay in front – says Grega Bole – because today route presented many curves and several roundabouts. In the final, the pace has increased a lot and some riders have crashed 5km from the finish line and luckily none of us has been involved “.
Damiano Caruso gained a position in the overall and is now 8th, while Vincenzo Nibali is still third with a 23” gap from the race leader Primoz Roglic. The Colombian Fernando Gaviria won the third stage after a bunch sprint, with our Vincenzo in 13th position..
