Critérium du Dauphiné

June 9th – 16th

SUNDAY, 9 JUNE 2019

Aurillac-Jussac, 142km. Undulating.

“Too bad, I couldn’t even try to contest the sprint” Sonny Colbrelli commented with a lot of bitterness after his 6th place on the opening stage of the Critérium du Dauphiné. In fact, he was one of the favourites on today’s finish, but unfortunately he was closed behind two riders that almost risked to crash.
“He was unlucky” Team BAHRAIN MERIDA Sports Director Vladimir Miholjevic said “But we’re happy with the condition he showed, both in the climb and in the sprint. It was a hard stage with a selective last lap, as we expected. Our riders did a good teamwork during the all day and then working for the sprint finish with Sonny. We hope for better luck on the next stages, because power we have and luck we hope”.
