Bole 6th at Eschborn-Frankfurt
Frankfurt (Germany), May 1st – BAHRAIN MERIDA Pro Cycling Team enters the top ten of the Eschborn-Frankurt with Grega Bole who sprints to 6th place. The Slovenian rider was part of a breakaway that went clear on the penultimate climb and was caught with only 3 km to go just before the last loop on the city centre.
“I was focused on the win today and I believed that I can take it, even when the chasers caught us” explains Bole “I had good legs and still power to try. Sure was not easy after a race like this and the effort of the breakaway. I think I did a good race and I want to thank my team for this chance. The winner of the race, Kristoff, is a world-class sprinter, so there is nothing more to add about the finale”.
In fact, Kristoff takes 4th win in a row at “Der Radklassiker”, with Matthews second and Naesen third. “I’m happy with Grega’s race, although I’m also sorry because he could have the chance to win the race if the breakaway went to the finish line” comments Sports Director Harald Morscher “I believe our boys did a good job. We were in every breakaway. Arashiro who was in the day’s early breakaway did a fantastic race and he did a really good work for the team. All in all I think that a 6th place is a good result for Bahrain Merida. The podium would be the top but we can improve”.
