At the Critérium du Dauphiné thinking of the Tour
The 70th edition of the Critérium du Dauphiné will start with a 6.6 km prologue through the streets of Valence on 3 June. After a long, hard slog on the roads of Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, the race will draw in Saint-Gervais Mont-Blanc on June 10th.
In between, a 35 km TTT and four uphill finish, including the 6th stage ending in La Rosiere on the same route that will be tackled during the 11h stage of the upcoming Tour de France.
“The Dauphiné has always been a very demanding race – explains SD Gorazd Štangeli – and represents an initial approach to the Tour, which will start in about a month. The team will run for Vincenzo, our captain, to help him to avoid risks and possible crash. We aim to do a good TTT and maybe take away some satisfaction in the sprint with Haussler and Cortina”.
Back to race for Vincenzo Nibali “I have not run the Critérium for a few years and I am happy to come back. I have just finished 2 weeks training camp in Teide and the race will help me to see at what point of the programme I am in sight of the Tour de France. I would like to do well in some stages, maybe that of La Rosiere that I will face again in July, and get a good position in the general classification “.
TBM line-up for Critèrium du Dauphiné: Yukiya Arashiro, Ivan Cortina, Heinrich Haussler, Ramunas Navardauskas, Vincenzo Nibali, Franco Pellizotti e Luka Pibernik.
