Monday, 31st August 2017 – Another two young riders will join BAHRAIN MERIDA Pro Cycling Team as stagier riders for the rest of the 2017 season. Andrea Toniatti and Andrea Garosio are young, talented and motivated riders that will contribute new energy and enthusiasm to the whole team.

Andrea Toniatti, 25 years old Italian, is a sprinter and had already achieved significant results this season. He won 6 races, among them GP Laguna Poreč, Trofeo Degasperi and Piccola Sanremo.

General Manager of BAHRAIN MERIDA Team, Brent Copeland, is looking forward to having him on the team: “We at Bahrain Merida are very pleased to have Andrea Toniatti riding for us during this second part of the season. Andrea has proven himself well with his good results in the u/23 category, we have seen his good ability to perform well in the one day races. For this reason the technical staff have been able to put together a race program which suites his characteristics and where we can see his true potential in the professional category. We are looking forward to seeing him perform and as always with our young up and coming riders we will give our full support in order for him to perform at his best.”

Andrea Garosio is a year younger, also Italian, and specialized in climbing. This year he was 2nd in Verignana, 3rd on Giro Medio Brenta, 3rd in Freccial dei Vini, and most recently he won Ciriè Pian della Mussa.

»Andrea Garosio is a rider that has proved himself well in his category,« continued Copeland. »We have received a lot of enthusiastic feedback from various trainers and technical staff about his climbing ability which is an area we are always trying to improve for our team. We have also seen some impressive results and hard work that Andrea has achieved this year and the past. Working with young talented riders such as Andrea help us put together the best team we can for the future and therefore our team Bahrain Merida are looking forward to seeing Andrea take this opportunity to show us his true talent in the professional category.”

The two young riders will have the chance to prove their talent in BAHRAIN MERIDA jerseys and will be included in our racing program in September and October.
