San Benedetto del Tronto, 13th March 2018 – Bad luck for Domenico Pozzovivo and Vincenzo Nibali in the Tirreno-Adriatico’s last stage. At the moment of their start, in fact, heavy rain started and so they had to run on a slimy and wet route.

Nibali finished in eleventh position overall at 1.59 from the race winner, the Polish Michal Kwiatkowski: “it was raining hard and I did not want to take risks thinking about the importance of the next races. I go out well from this period of competitions between Strade Bianche and “Tirreno” and I can say that the preparation continues according to the programs “. Fourteenth in the final classification Pozzovivo who preferred not to force after yesterday’s crash.

For Kanstantsin Siutsou: “it was the classic explosive time trial. Not long but with a route where you could push to make high speeds. I’m happy with my race week because I ended up with a growing condition”.

It is up to the sports director Alberto Volpi to comment on this Tirreno-Adriatico: “the guys gave everything they had and the 3rd place in the Team Classification confirmed it. The delay accumulated in the initial time trial weighed to the end and so we must be satisfied with two of our athletes in the first fifteen overall”.

Next race for TBM will be on saturday with the “classicissima” Milano-Sanremo.
