A solid team for a selective race

  |   Press

The 73rd edition of the Lugano GP is scheduled for next Sunday with start and finish in the beautiful Swiss city. The race includes eight laps, each of 22.4km, for a total of 179km and nearly 4000 meters of vertical elevation.

Last year our Hermann Pernsteiner won on the Lugano lakefront. “The route is very selective – comments SD Alberto Volpi – and many riders will not finish the race. We have a balanced line-up with Vincenzo, captain, and Matej, second team leader “.

In fact, in addition to Vincenzo Nibali and his brother Antonio at the start after Giro d’Italia, there will also be a return to the races for Domen Novak, after the crash during last Paris-Nice, and for Matej Mohoric.

“The last race I did was the Frankfurt GP at the beginning of May – explains Matej – then I spent two weeks at the Teide’s training camp. We have worked a lot and cycled for about 50 hours and the GP Lugano will help me see where I am with my preparation before two importants competitions like Tour de Suisse and in july the Tour de France “.

TBM’s line-up for Lugano GP: Vincenzo Nibali, Matej Mohoric, Antonio Nibali, Andrea Garosio, Domen Novak and Meiyin Wang.
