A nice try for Chun Kai Feng

Trieste, Sunday 24th June – The final stage of Adriatica Ionica race of its first edition. Our Taiwanese champion Chun Kai Feng joined in the breakaway in a group of 6. In the short but fast stage, Elia Viviani(Quickstep Floors) claimed his 3rd victory in Trieste by Adriatic Sea. Young Colombian Ivan Ramiro Sosa(Androni Giocattoli – Sidermec) secured his overall lead.

“We had a hectic start as we expected in the pre-race meeting. I went with the other 5 riders. Actually we had a nice cooperation on the way, but you can tell the sprinters’ squad were eager to control the race. After the 2nd Cat.3 climb, we got only 40+ seconds left, it was difficult to make it to the finish. Still, I am satisfied to finish this race by following our plan,” says our breakaway rider Feng after stage 5.

Our sports director Vladimir Miholjević concluded: “In general, it was okay. We did not come with the strongest team possible, but we have the riders who can offer a good race through the breakaway. Unfortunately, Antonio has a crash in a crucial moment and lost some time in the 2nd stage. After it, we tried with him to do in general classification, but it was not the best what we could have done. In the end, we must be satisfied because we gave opportunities to the riders to do the race by them all, so we have pictures about their condition and for the next races in front of us in the season.”
