2 stages, 2nd in GC and point classification, we have a great TOJ
Tokyo, Sunday 27th May – TOJ Tokyo stage finished with a bunch sprint. David Per from Team Bahrain-Merida joined the fight and got 10th place: “I was trying to follow Grega’s wheels, because he will help me today. But in the last kilometer, these Japanese riders risked a lot. I braked 2 times so I lost him. I jumped to Israel Cycling Academy’s stream, I was sprinting as good as I can.”
In the 8-stage race, Grega Bole won ourselves 2 stages and points classification: “I am happy with my performance, also with our results here. I think we worked very well. For sure we missed Yukiya, maybe with him we can do something more.”
From Hermann Pernsteiner, who finished 2nd in GC: “First, I have to thank all my teammates and staffs for great works. It was amazing they protected me from all the stress, and guided me through the race. It’s my first year in WorldTour team, I still have to learn a lot, but I think in this race I made a great improvement, it’s a good preparation for upcoming race.”
All Team Bahrain Merida riders and staffs are happy for our 8 days race journey, we finished with a great result in a high morale.
