Tour de France 2017.

VESOUL – TROYES – 216 km / Stage 6

Troyes, France, July 6th

After the midday start in Vesoul at almost 30°C, a group of three riders made a breakaway with a gap around 3 minutes. TBM riders stayed together all the way and worked hard for their common goal of launching Sonny Colbrelli for his crescendo. The temperature was getting close to 35°C in the middle of the stage, at around 3 p.m.

Quick Step Floors, Team SKY, Lotto Soudal and Astana were exchanging in the front of the bunch. The breakaway riders were caught, as expected, in the last 13 km before the finish, at the boiling point. Marcel Kittel took his second victory on this year’s Tour de France and his 11th victory on this most famous cycling event.

Despite the fact that Sonny Colbrelli did not succeed as expected this morning, BAHRAIN MERIDA Pro Cycling Team worked well in today’s challenging circumstances of Tour de France.

Sonny Colbrelli was disappointed after his performance and just commented shortly: »It’s really difficult to sprint here at Tour de France. I did not even compete in the finishing sprint today.«
