Team BAHRAIN MERIDA to Paris-Nice, 5th – 12th March

One of the first major races in the early calendar of 2017 will kick off this Sunday. This will be the 75th edition Paris-Nice and the 6th event of the 2017 UCI World Tour.

Philippe Mauduit, Bahrain Merida Pro Cycling Team’s sports director is hardly waiting for one of the first races where he wants his team to go “full gas”: “This is the race where we can expect everything – from good to very bad and hard weather conditions. Stages 1, 2, 3 and 5 are suited for sprinter teams and teams with a general classification rider, heading for victory in Nice. As always, the Individual Time Trial stage and Stage 8 will be decisive for GC, Stage 7 with the top hill finish could be even more decisive for GC with a good hope of victory for climbers. Knowing all that, we are going to the race with a strong team, aiming to achieve high level performance, with Ion Izagirre for the GC and Niccolo Bonifazio and Sonny Colbrelli for stage victories. We will of course try to take every opportunity to go for breakaways and help our other riders to catch all possible stage victories as well.”

So let us announce  the team roster for the upcoming Paris – Nice race:

Borut Božič / Enrico Gasparotto / Grega Bole / Ion Izagirre / Luka Pibernik / Niccolò Bonifazio / Sonny Colbrelli / Tsgabu Grmay
